The ThermoSmart™ Heated tubing hose is designed for the Fisher and Paykel ICON™ CPAP machines. The ThermoSmart™ Technology includes advanced humidification that uses a heated element throughout the tubing which allows the humidification level of the machine to be the same that is provided at the mask.
The consistency is important to the user because it helps reduce the chances of condensation build up in the tubing or mask (“rainout”). The heated tubing does not warm the air being provided to the user, it simply keeps the tube at a temperature that allows the humidity to be consistent.
The ICON™ Heated Tubing is only designed to be used with the Fisher and Paykel ICON™ Series machines; it will not work with any other machines. One end of the tubing has an electrical connector that connects to the machine and the other end is a normal 22mm cuff allowing and CPAP mask to be used.
Features
Corrugated exterior allows the ThermoSmart™ tubing to be flexible even with a heated element throughout the hose. The interior is smooth and allows the cleaning of the hose to be easy and effective with limiting the chance of soap or water being left inside.
It is not recommended to use a tubing cover with a heated tubing as the heated tubing element throughout the hose will do the job better than what a cover can achieve.
